Welcome Baby Jacob!

Our baby boy!
It took us a long time to decide on a name for this one; we hadn't really "set it in stone" until right before we left the hospital. But here he is...

Jacob David Dyal Willis
Born October 3rd
8 lbs 7 oz
21 inches long

Hard Times

In our preparations for Jacob we had to get ready for mom to come; this meant that Samantha had to move from her room (which is also our "guest" room) into the boys room.

The first night of the switch David opened up our door to go downstairs to get the laundry. To his surprise he found a little girl laying on the floor. (Which he almost stepped on!)

Each following night she would continue to sneak out of the room (slowly adding more and more stuff to her "list" of stuff she would bring out with her.

Don't worry, now she loves sleeping in there. And we wonder if it is even worth taking her out of their room yet!

Service

This season our family is trying to focus on different kinds of service.

At the end of the summer our church had a "Day of Service" that we were able to go help out with.

Our ward cleaned up, sandblasted, and re-stained this playground at a local elementary school.

This was Sammi's contribution. (Trying to stay out of the way ;) )

First Days of School

This year we had 2 different "First" days of school. Tyler started kindergarten this year and Tray started preschool.

Tyler loves his new backpack (he also got a new transformer lunch box)!

Tray's first day!

On his second day of school Tray was the "spotlight"!

Tyler's 6th Birthday

Unfortunately I did not get very many pictures of/during Tylers birthday, but he had a lot of fun. Like every other year the Lighthouse Festival falls during the week of Tyler's birthday so he gets fireworks every year (in celebration of him of course ;) ).
This year he also had a Daddy/son outing to the Evergreen State Fair!
Last but not least we had a small gathering/party in his honor with some friends.

Summer UT Trip

In July we made our bi-yearly trip out to UT to see family. This year we happened to plan our trip during the same time that the Willis family was doing a family camping trip! So for 3 days and 2 nights we got to go camping (borrowing a lot of camping gear - thanks James and Sally)!
We rode scooters...

Played at the lake (Payson Lake)...

And fell off piers!

Tyler did anyways!
(unfortunately I did not get any pictures of it)

The kids loved hanging out with our cousins.
And we loved seeing all our family!

This was the kids on the way home...

(How he can sleep like this we may never know!)

Fishing and Beach Play

We love taking trips to the beach. Every once in awhile we even take the ferry to try out different beaches around the area. On this trip we met a very nice man; when he found out that Tray had never caught a fish before decided to help him fulfill this wish.

It took a few minutes, but finally Tray had his fish! He was so proud of himself!

It was a fun day at the beach!

4th

For the 4th of July we got together with some friends at the end of our street for a BBQ and fireworks.
Tyler loves fireworks and can't get enough of them, but the sweetest thing about my oldest is how much he wants to make sure that everyone around him is happy. He took all of our fireworks (the kid ones) and gave them to all of his friends (making sure that they all got some, even his brother and sister) He was more concerned that they all got a turn then about getting a turn himself. (Though we did make sure that he got his turn as well :) )

Samantha loved to sit, nice and cozy, and watch the show. Though anytime the sparklers were pulled out she would jump up to get one and be in the middle of the action!

Tray did not like the fireworks very much. Though all the "kid" ones this is where he spent his time.

We were able to get him out later for the big ones, which were further away in the sky (mostly).
